Video game fans longing for the days of the arcades can find a retro oasis right on their Web browser.
The Internet Archive has added a section to their software collection called the Internet Arcade, featuring more than 900 games from the 1970s through the ’90s, most of which are playable on a Web browser.
“The game collection ranges from early “bronze-age” videogames, with black and white screens and simple sounds, through to large-scale games containing digitized voices, images and music,” reads a description of the Arcade. “Most games are playable in some form, although some are useful more for verification of behavior or programming due to the intensity and requirements of their systems.”
